While this is far from a complete explanation as it is a very diverse process, therapy involves psychological or other problems being treated through communication and relationship factors between an individual and a therapist. This relationship is of course, strictly professional and exists for the purpose of helping one to make deep psychic changes that can happen within a safe and secure space. The therapeutic relationship differs from all other relationships because it allows you to share without worrry about your information being told to others or in anyway effecting your job, family or relationships. Therapists come in many varieties from Psychologists and Psychiatrists, to social workers and mental health counselors. Each of these modalities is trained according to their philosophies. Therapists are trained to understand what you say - your words, how you say them and which ones you do not use. Therapy also pays attention to body language and voice tone to fully understand your speech. Therapists are familiar with the symptoms of psychiatric illness and the difficulties of life. Therapists know the right questions to ask and might challenge you to consider questions and aspects of yourself and your life that you never pondered before.

Spiritual practice is a great emotional adventure open to anyone who wishes to transcend their normal, ordinary definition of reality. The shaman or spirit healer is able to make contact with and utilize an ordinarily hidden reality in order o acquire knowledge and power to help others. The journeying will vary by person and typically involves a spirit journey whereby your inner self is consulted in order to gain information and help you gain insight. According to indigenous cosmology, there are 3 planes of consciousness: the Upper, Middle, and Lower worlds. Humans did not invent them, they discovered them. These archetypal worlds are a part of our collective human unconscious and humanity.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or (EMDR) is a powerful psychotherapy that was designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. During the session, the client attends to emotionally disturbing material in brief sequential patterns while focusing on an external stimulus such as a light, tone, or tactile stimulation. EMDR facilitates the accessing of the traumatic memory network so that information processing is enhanced and becomes more adaptive. These new associations forge an elimination of emotional distress within the person.
